My Thoughts

I couldn't wait to receive the George Foreman Smart Kitchen 30-Cup Digital Multicooker to review! First of all, I've gone through three George George Foreman Nonstick Countertop Grills since college and have loved every single one of them. They do last forever, but I always seemed to lose a part when I moved and I just couldn't bare to live without my grill so, I just bought a new one! Secondly, my husband has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and he needs to lose weight so, I thought this would be perfect for our meals.

We used to own a rice cooker and a steamer, but this combines them, making it a space saver, too! I was a little worried about all of the buttons on the side, but the directions completely explained how to use the Multicooker.My only complaint is that, unlike with my other George Foreman grills, there were no recipes included in the box. I honestly had no idea what to make or where to even begin. Luckily my husband is more of an adventurous cook.

For our first meal with the Smart Kitchen Multi-Cooker we made rice with marinated chicken and broccoli. In only about 20 minutes the Multi-Cooker had made us a delicious and nutritious dinner. I love steamed vegetables because it retains all of the vitamins and minerals. I also liked the steamed chicken because the steamer made it extremely moist. We are very happy with the George Foreman Smart Kitchen Digital Multicooker and definitely recommend it to others who enjoy steamed foods and an easy way to make rice on a daily basis!

Arroz Con Pollo
Corn tortillas may be warmed in the steamer basket. Place over the cooked chicken and rice and let warm during the 5 minute stand time.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 40 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 1/2-inch flat pieces
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped white onion
  • 1 1/4 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced pimento stuffed green olives
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon each: chili powder and ground cumin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (4-oz.) can diced green chiles
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • Chopped fresh cilantro and sliced green onions (optional)

Set Smart Kitchen to the browning setting and add butter and chicken; cook for 10 minutes or until chicken is browned, turning once or twice. Stir in rice and cook for 5
minutes more. Stir in onion, broth, wine, bell pepper, olives, seasonings, garlic and chiles; cover and cook on the simmer setting for 20 minutes. Turn off heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in salsa and sprinkle with cilantro and green onions, if you like. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
